Kim Victoria Cattrall born 21 August 1956 is an British Canadian actress from Canada. Best known for the character as Samantha Jones in the HBO Sex and the City series for which she was nominated for five Emmy Award nominations and 4 Golden Globe Award, winning the Golden Globe 2002 for the most outstanding supporting actress. The character was reprised on two of the Sex and the City films (2008) as well as Sex and the City 2 (2009). Her most prominent roles include Police Academy, Big Trouble from Little China Mannequin, and Porky's from the 80s. Kim Cattrall will be remembered for her portrayal of Samantha Jones in the HBO sitcom Sex & the City. Cattrall is a well-known actor whose role as Samantha Jones in the popular TV sitcom Sex and The City marked a pivotal point in her professional career. The sitcom not only amplified her popularity amongst the national public, but also made an international celebrity, bringing her much fame and recognition. Her most well-known role was playing the role of La Dolce Vita, a comedy drama. The film won an Oscar and a Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960 and was also a commercial as well as critical success. Before becoming an actress, the Skane-born model worked in fashion. She was crowned the Miss Sweden competition. Following her move to the US she began acting in various films, playing small roles. In the movie Abbott and Costello Go to Mars she was described as the role of a Venusian. In the following year, her performance as a bloody woman in Blood Alley won her the Golden Globe for Most Promising debutante.
